Recipe: Summer Fruit

First, go to local farmer’s market. If you are from Georgia (which I am) you can try and use that amazing resource in order to find locally produced, organic delights.

Once you arrive at the farmers’ market, introduce yourself to the vendors, chat with them; talk about the weather, their crops, their children. Learn about the people who provide you sustenance by the sweat of their brows and the bend in their backs.

If it is summer, pick up some peaches. Thank your vendor for this summer delight.

Take them home in your basket.

Wash them. Dry them. Smell them. Feel the fuzz of each perfect globe.

Dare to eat a peach. (or wear white flannel trousers and walk upon the beach!)

Taste summer deliciousness and be thankful that your day consisted of this juicy, sugary, plump nectar.

Oh, we are blessed by this fruit!
